Students learn to process health insurance claims, examine coverage issues, learn billing/collection efforts and mandated documentation. Students will also learn to code diagnoses, procedures and medical supplies performed by, or identified by, a physician. These codes make it possible for health care providers to receive accurate and timely financial reimbursement from insurance companies and government programs.
